CUT THE WRAP

CUT THE WRAP

Join the call for strong national packaging laws. Right now, only 16% of Australia's single-use plastic packaging is recovered. Beyond the visible crisis of choked waterways and overflowing landfills, plastic pollution is a growing threat to human health, exposing us to a toxic load of harmful chemicals embedded in everyday packaging.

Momentum is building in Canberra with the introduction of the 'No Time To Waste' Bill, but pushback from sections of the retail, dairy, and meat industries threatens to stall progress. Without urgent regulation, our domestic recycling sector faces collapse and soft plastic collections will cease. We need a mandatory Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) scheme that protects our bodies and our environment by forcing producers to reduce, reuse, and safely recover their packaging.
